Getting X-Box connected to internet

Discussion in 'Console Gaming' started by NegativeFactor, Nov 16, 2002.

  1. Does anyone know where there is desent instructions telling me how to connect my X-Box to the internet via my cable modem?

    Any help would be useful!

I'm kinda confused as to how you would browse the web on it and if you even can!

(I'm sorry for asking questions like this here, but this is by far the best site on net!!)

Try Gamespy. It has a Xbox tunnel add on which may get you online.

Not sure if your xbox will surf the net unless you install linux/win2k on it :)

Will I be able to check e-mail and surf the internet?

No. Microsoft has stated that the Xbox is a gaming machine only and there will be no internet enabled browser released. The only browsing style system on the Xbox will be for the online gaming site.

Instead of using GameSpy or XBconnect, I recommend getting the Xbox Online server, Xbox LIVE..

    But it's not available worldwide.

    And it costs loads.....

Gamespy is free if you can live with the ads

If you want it to be free, then get XBconnect, ALOT better than GameSpy in terms of lag.
