Well I was thinking of turning my old p3 1000 into a freebsd nat router/firewall with http://www.pfsense.com/ :D

Outperform any wired router any day of the week :)

    a) i dont have a spare pc now - it blew up
    b) i dont have that many sockets in the room to power another pc
    c) less space required with a router than another pc :)

I've always been a linksys fan.

The thing with the Netgear that I didnt like with my uncles was port forwarding. You can't do an port switch. Like this is the outside port and this is the inside port.

For example I cant say forward port 5500 to 192.168.0.100 port 3389.

EDIT: I meant can't not can, fixed now.
