here's the case, my slave hard drive (D:\) I think is screwed. I don't know the problem but I want to format it and hopefully it will work. This is just one of my messing computers, but since it is an 800 meg drive compared to my other 100 meg drives, I'd like to keep it. WHen I do attempt to format it it gets to about 3% then fails, so I'm curious to know if there are any commands that could be used along with the formatting command (like the /s and /v things) that would allow it to continue.

go to the manufacturers website and download the diagnostic tool.

Follow instructions.

If it says it's dead - it's dead.

lol :D
canada above usa.
try to format woth pm8 maybe that will work

800 meg ? ...time for a new harddrive man ...reagrdless of wether it works or not id take that sukker out and let it rest in peace.

yeh you cruel cruel man, retire that HDD to the big RMA in the sky :p

look on the net for a diagnostic tool. if that turns out all ok, look for a low-level format tool from the manufacturer and give that a go.

if it all doesnt work after that... let it rest :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
