Firefox and other browsers are really slow?

    Well I didn't know where to put this, but all of my browsers are really lagging. I have cleared my cache, ran virus checks on my programs. And I don't know what's wrong. My cpu usage ranges anywhere from 60-100% because of the browsers.

    What is eating up the cycles? Do you have the latest versions of Flash & Java, those are the usual suspects.

    I do. I keep them updated since I play a lot of online games.

    Well, firefox IS slow unless you tweak it.

    If you have tweaked it, it still has memory leaks that will cause it to bog down your system over X amount of time.

    That being said... if you are closing it every so often and it's still attacking your CPU usage like you say, there could well be another issue.

    Do you have any viruses?

    And what other browsers are you experiencing issues with?

    Well all of mine which are IE7, Msn, and firefox.(main problem is with firefox though)
    I run virus checks daily if not weekly.(includes spyware). The add-ons I have fore firefox are: Adblock and Firebug
