fastnet99 settings??

  1. Am I missing a setting I should check? In Preferences\General\Common Settings I have checked "Start Minimized and "AutoSave the Hosts files on exit".

I had it scan my Favorites to store them.

But all I can see in the host file is my favorites; none of the other websites I visit show up.

One other thing. Whenever I start fastnet99 Microsoft Office 2000 goes through its installation rountine...what's with that?

I may be giving up real quick on this program

  5. Thanks, but some of dealer's settings aren't for me. I don't want it starting at startup, and I'd rather run verify urls manually.

Those settings have nothing to do with this, but thanks.

But I do know now what has to do with it...I have it set to AutoSave the Host file on exit...so it's saving the url after I close fastnet99. I'm wondering if I set it to "find address in the background if it will then save the urls right away.

AnywayI have that resolved. Now I'm waitng for this blistering speed I'm supposed to experience. :)

The setting you were probably looking for was listed in Rascal's post. Here it is:

"On the 'browser' tab tick the following: 'automatic urls capture' and select your browser from the list"

I followed all the instructions and I have definetly seen a speed improvement on my 600K cable modem connection.

also, after you ahve it configured, make sure every once in a while, you enter the gui, and delete duplicate addresses.

I'm updating the addresses from the gui once a week...that should be fine

  9. Okay, I'll try it one more time. But I better see some speed, or I'm reporting dealer to the authorities.
