Hi. My Dell GX1 has a 5G Maxtor (OEM) and I am trying to replace it with a Seagate 10G and tried to use an OEM Dell disc but it would not so I thought it could be looking for a Maxtor too so I had tried using a different non-OEM XP Pro disc and still did not finish the installation and this is the error log info that showed.

SXS.DLL Syntax error in manifest or policy file "E:I386\asms\1000\MSFT\WINDOWS\GDIPLUS\GDIPLUS.MAN" on line 4

>> the other lines shows " a component's file does not match the verification present in the component manifest "

Does it have to do with the HD because it's not a Maxtor? How can I resolve this? Thanks. :(

I hate to ask, but is the copy of XP legit?

yes, it is. this is the one that i used at home and it has been verified. i am just trying it if it will work for the GX1 in my office to understand if it's the HD that is keeping it from installing its OS from a Dell pc.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
