DVD Region Free

I own a Time PC, a S3809 Speed Demon to be precised. The DVD is an ATAPI DVD-ROM 16XMax and is region locked (RPC-2). Elaborate Bytes DVD Region Killer needs my DVD to be RPC-1. Where can I get the firmware to region free my dvd (or a free patch)?

Try doing a search for dvd genie & see if that will do it. I think it is freeware.

Thanks for that HP, but dvd genie needs a RPC-1 DVD, I will keep looking, any other ideas?

No it doesn't, that's the whole point of the application; to allow you to swap between regions.

I use it on mine perfectly well.

DVD Genie only supports region free DVD drives

you need to patch the firmware

you might want to check out http://firmware.inmatrix.com/

and http://www.firmware.fr.st/

becareful though as you could damage the drive

DVD Region-Free works on RPC2 drives as well. You might want to check that out.

Hang on, if your DVD is region free already why would you need a region changer???

Do you mean multiregion?

thats what it says on the dvd genie site (what i said)

RPC1 cracks the region check at the hardware level, windows and the software players have their own region checks dvd geine bypasses those
