Hi there,

I want to get rid of one hard drive and replace it witha new one. I need to copy over everything form my existing HD to the new larger one (Partitions, Operating systems and the kitchen sink). Is there an easy way to do it without having to resort to PowerQuest's DriveCopy? If not, are there turorials on how this can be done or is there any other software out there for this task.

Thanks for your help,

J

You'd have to use a program like Norton Ghost, Drive copy or such. They are all very user friendly

although alot of HD's nowadays will come with a drivecopy utility on their recovery disk..so you can connect both drives..pop in the disk and it will copy the drive and all to the new drive.

If your using XP rplacing that disk is going to lead to reinstalling...
I try cloning my drive to a larger one and XP did'nt like it...
Locked me out of everything even safe mode...

I hope thats not true about XP not liking drive copy. I just purchased drive copy 4. They claim it can be used with XP! I had tried it a couple times and when I go to do the copy, my system beeps and it locks up. Anyone else have problems with this?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
