I don't like YaBB, you can't do half the stuff that you can do with vBulletin, phpBB, OpenBB, Invision, wBB, etc...

Well i suggest to use Snitz 2000 Forum , pretty easy to setup . First visit www.myshipmates.net/xpsc and from there ( links ) u will find the way to download . There are also instructions ( in download ) about all you need . Good luck !

Most give you a choice now of either MySQL or there own database, MySQL is faster (this site uses a MySQL database) but they cost extra! :p

Cost extra? MySQL or forums using MySQL? Neither I'm afraid. MySQL is free and at Sourceforge (see url above) you can find several free forums using MySQL.

Ah. True. But on the other hand the forums not using MySQL use some kind of homemade database using files right? Most hosts don't allow users to access the filesystem.

PHPBB is a great free forum, easy to set up and use.
