I have a file uploaded to my website host. currently, the way i have it set up is you click on a link that directs you to the file, but it just opens it in the broswer. Is there something special i need to do to make the download box come up to let them choose the directory to save it to?

Try changing the link to open in 'self'.

As long as the file extension is fairly normal (such as .jpg, .mp3, .mpg etc) and you have the hyperlink pointing directly to the file (such as http://www.benquilter.com/picture.jpg), it should work mint. If both of these are true already, well then, I suck.

Its not todo with the code, its all todo with the file settings in folder options/file types
