Apologies in advance if this has been clarified elsewhere, but between me and the search engine we couldn't come up with an answer.
In .reg files (as the "Add a weblink to the Start menu"-files) paths are listed with directories separated by two backslashes (%SystemRoot%\\system32\\shell32.dll). Is there a reason for this? When I enter stuff into the registry, it seems like it likes paths with one backslash at a time better.
Can anyone recommend a comprehensive tutorial on registry editing?
