Do I need to setup the proxy server?

I am running WinXPpro connected to the internet via a cable modem and roadrunner.

My computer is networked with another XP machine and one win98se machine via a Dlink cable router/switch.

My question is, the router has a built in firewall, and I was wondering if I need to setup the proxy option in my programs (ie. IMchat, webcam, gamespy, etc)?

My chat programs work fine and I havn't really tried internet games yet, just wondered if the firewall made the proxy setup necessary.

    Thanks!

Hardware Routers use Network Address Translation (NAT) and do not require any proxy settings
