DMA settings

    I have just upgraded a machine to XP Pro form 98. Since then i cannot get WINDVD 4 to recognise then dvd or cd rom. XP itself can recognise them but not windvd 4 .It recognised then in 98 .
    Error says something about DMA. But icannot find where to change these settings.HELP?

    go to device manager and go to the primary ide channel's property and then click on advanced settings and change the transfer mode to dma if available.
