Creative speakers

i ahve been looking at buying some 7.1 surround speakers and i cannot tell the difference between hte creative 7700, 7800 and the 7900. so i ask can some one explain to me the difference if there is one?

you can probably check the differences there. I can't find the 7800.

Looks like the main difference is that the 7900 has a horizontal center speaker. Also, the control pods: looks like the 7700 has a USB port for direct connection of a muvo. The 7900 has a line in.

To me, speakers and soundcards dont ever have much difference in sound quality.

haha .... i can suggest not getting the usb one. The difference is style. THey all perform the same.

The entire point in having a sound card is to relieve the mobo the processing power of doing the music thing.

get you a good audigy if you dont already have one ..and whatever 7.1 you like the most... or better yet .. run the outs to your home theater receiver and dont worry about speakers while you are playing games on your 50 inch plasma tv
