counter strike and windows xp...help

ok..i can play counterstrike normally
but if i press escape, i go back to the main menu
and i when i resume the game..i don't get any picture...just a pic of the main menu with the bg sound of the game going on

anyone else has this prob
pls help

using half life and csmod

with 384 mb of sdram

Sometimes things of this nature are caused by having the console enabled through the command line of your shortcut to CS.
Two things you can try that I can think of off the top of my head are;
Remove the "-console" command from the command line and try it.
Try going back another screen before you "resume" the game.

I would recomend that u check your video modes. At the hl web site there are a few things that u can turn ooff, such as anti-aliasing the correct these issues, I personally have an ati card, and if i use direct 3d rather than open gl, I have the same problem
