Converting to NTFS

hey,

Question, does converting a drive to NTFS works like formating it? I mean does it erase everything that is stored on that drive in order to switch to NTFS file system?

thank you...

Sam

No it doesn't, the information will remain untouched by converting. It alters the file system, not the files.

One more thing, the reason why I'm asking about it, is that I want to be able to use some folders on that drive as NTFS compressed folders. The thing is that when I created compressed folder on FAT32 with 'compressed (zipped) folders', those where treated by the system not as directories but rather as files (sort of like ZIP files). I need to be able to use them as directories and I want to know if NTFS type of compression allows that.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
