I know many people no longer watch wrestling but I do and this is a sad day for WWE and the sports entertainment industry.
I stopped watching several years ago. But he was a class act, his matches vs Kurt Angle from back in the day were classics. It's a really sad day.
sad very sad.
Seem like only yesterday my son was little and he'd make me and his dad watch wrestling every Saturday morning on Sky, thank god he grew out of that. Chris Benoit, The Rock, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero (RIP) and the likes were absolutely massive in the UK in those days.:speechless:
Wrestling was never my thing but we watched it for years and it always comes as a shock to read stuff like this :speechless:
Maybe it was steroid related:
WWE (of course) is denying "roid rage". Benoit was tested (like all wrestlers) and came up negative on April 10, 2007 (yes, sometime passed, but they raise a few very good points).
Regardless, it appears to me that the WWE has gotten back to business once the murder-suicide became apparent.
EDIT: My last statement is correct. They have said there will be no mention of Chris Benoit because of what has unfolded. Back to business. Vince McMahon made the opening statement.
Too bad it was something like this to get away from that stupid "Vince is dead" storyline.
I agree. It was a bad storyline and I am glad it was dropped. They (WWE) dedicated tonight's ECW show to everyone affected by this, but they will move forward like it never happened.
