Chat help

    Hi,i have a problem,it may sound lame,but i bought a new pc with windows xp and most chat rooms on the net wont load,i've had a scout round looking for a place to download a chat applet or something,but XP should have all the necessary software to run chatrooms shouldn't it?Can anyone help?Thanks T

    it should, especially for its price, but it doesn't. usually when you join a web chat thing you have the option of installing the required plugins for your browser.

    Thanks for the reply,but the three chatrooms i use(well i used to use) dont give the plug in download option,do you know any places where i can download the standard plugins?

    nope, email the webmasters of the chat rooms and ask them exactly that....or even try downloading and irc client like mIRC.

    I'm guessing they use Java. A standard WinXP doesn't have the Java plugin. Try installing one or installing SP1 which includes the Java plugin.
