Changing the XP Pro Corporate Product Key

this really isn't warez or piracy. The instructions allow us to do something windows is capable of. If you wanna blame anyone, blame Billy boy for leaving this backdoor in WinXP

i'm right there with u guys!!!

Warp2Search have actually posted a tool now that will let you change keys, I guess it would be useful in a situation where you use multiplke licences on multiple machines and want tio change those around.

It's not just for piracy and as you can tell we have been keeping a very close eye on all threads relating to this topic.

It's like X sxays, be very careful how tyou word your statements... There is likely to be alot of people using a non-legit key, the information to sort your installation out is there... but we are not going to help you do it.

EP. You do understand that when you purchase multiple licences, WinXP knows how many you have purchased.

An example of this is when you activate, if you reactivate later on a totally different box, it tells the user that he has insufficient licenses for this copy of WinXP and that furthur licenses need to be purchased. But all i had to do was ring up microsoft and explain that i had purchased a new computer. I never had an issue with the second activation like some people seem to have had.

You use the same CDKey but there are multiple licenses for that one Key. Such tools are not designed for legitimate use.

blame billy boy for leaving this back door open. Back doors are places in security which have not been protected properly. But here we are actively bypassing the security. How is this different from hacking?

Read your EULA people. I actually purchased my WinXP Home and Microsoft must be congratulated for providing academic rates to students to purchase WinXP.

Do not be hypocrits, if you are going to stop people posting about it in the forums then don't make the frontpage anti-piracy policy free.

Hey mbunny what is the academic rate for students? Do they still have it going?

I go to Swinburne Uni... we can get WinXP Pro for $195 and WinXP Home for $140

I personally didn't think getting Pro was worth it so i just went with Home.

Thanks for that. My daughter is in year 11 at the moment so I must look into it a bit further. I tried the Aust microsoft site ealier & boy o boy was that confusing.

How does this explain the thousands of copies of XP Corp out there using that infamous key? If I read this right then they wouldn't work at all. Virtually every site I know of has this info on it someplace...I don't consider it a problem....if one calls MS, they'd find out about this Xperience.

MS seem to enjoy trusting big companies :/

Microsoft Select. A great big folder full of microsoft titles. They use the trust system in where the company rings up MS and tells them how many of the program they have used.... heh

I was talking about WinXP Pro.... You can't actually get Corp unless you are with MS Select. FCK was an actual Corp copy... they just got a hold of it from the MS Select folder

Even Microsoft will tell you this:
Buy Home or Pro. Install it one computer. Wait 120 days. The WPA changes.
Install it on another machine if desired with the same key.
So much for those "valid" copies out there...MS did this intentionally.
If a keyGen has been posted (and yes ONE does WORK) great.
It's not like stealing totally. After all XP Corp will work, just no updates for those with the FCK ....key.and WPA associated with it.
It isn't just the key kids. If you do not know how to change the WPA you'll find yourself blocked too.

Using 2k Pro it works better. XP to me, which I OWN is like Windows on top of DOS. Think about it. It's just a smear of fancy stuff on top of a proven OS.

Actually a BACK DOOR is what some Software Programers/Creators leave in so they can get into their progs anytime they want to so they can tweek stuff. And you think these Programers that are double checking everything before the release date are going to plug them? H3LL NO. It's not that they're not properly protected, if you want it protected the Programers have to NOT put in these BACK DOORS. If there are no BACK DOORS then there is no way in. You would actually have to decompile XP to change any of the code, if you could that is. But it's written so it can be tweeked. Oh, and it is HACKING. Every time you mess with the regestry it's HACKING. Every time you screw with the LOG ON SCREEN it's HACKING, every time you put in your own THEME and ICONS it's HACKING, etc...
That's what you do to make it YOUR OWN. To make it UNIQUE, one of a kind. That's why it sometimes crashes. It's inherant to it's design. That's the BEAUTY of it. :D
