I have bought the new cd "Kent - Vapen&Ammunition" (Also called "Kent - Guns ´n Ammo")

And the record company BMG has got a really nice cd protection on the cd. You can run it in a computer but its not acceptable bit rates, only 48kbit/s. They say this will "stop"piracy.

I dont belive them. Do you have any idea how to crack or unlock the cd protection. Think i can burn a copy with nero?

thanx!

Try the following *g* :)

1) Read the disc, using CDRWin track by track and save them in RAW BIN format...
Open these files seperatly with Sound Forge, as a RAW Audio Format using the CD Quality spects (RAW PCM, 44KHz, 16Bit, Stereo...) Save each track as an MP3 File or so, and burn them on a CD...

2) Use CDMate or CDRWin to read the tracks, and burn them on an RW, then RIP the audio tracks of the RW again,... (Experimental)

3) Get a Compact Disc or HIFI installation, play the CD on that, connect it to your PC and record the incomming audio :)

compact disc

i´ve tried to play it on an compact disc and record incoming audio but it dosent get any good quality...

isnt there any program that can read protected audio channels, that is specialized on this kind of protection? cdrwin an the other one you mentioned isnt working very well, too bad...

There is no specialised audio reader or writer (yet) for this new copy protection...

CDRWin works excelet, but you must give the CD Rom handle to CDRWin first. So do everything to prevent windows from looking to the CD. Disable Autorun, Disable all applications that automaticly look towards the cd.
Start and prepair CDRWin and insert the CD at the very last moment.

About the bad quality thats comming trough, this lies either at your recording software (Use Sound Forge 5), your soundcard, your cable connection or your cd playback device.

ok! thanks!

i will test sound forge 5, and if my cables are bad or something like that i´ll give it the hard way and use the CDRwin!!!

;)!!

no i dont understand that wierd program...maybe i have an old version or a bad cd-recorder but if it my cd-r is not supported the program is bad because i have an Samsung 12*8*32 so its not a year old yet...

A small note...

In order to make this all work, you will need to have a writer that supports reading (and writing) in RAW mode. (and DAO mode).

Check your manual to see if your CD Writer supports this...
Plextor does, it's the best brand of CD Writers, but I don't know is samsoung does...

i downloaded the new version (4.0) of clonecd and for the first time it actually works!

Any of the SP crew still out there?
