    Hi,
What CD-R media brand is known for its longevity and durability (if there is any)? Cause I wanna make some important backups, and want them last me a long while. Thanks.

Memorex works great with me, it would be great if you found black ones.

    TDK

i use TDK CDRWs. They have worked fine for my backups.

But the manufacturers themselves have their own quality ratings so you just have to shop around.

I have used both brands and never made coasters. But I will say the Memorex ones I have had a problem when putting them in plastic sleeves, seems like the top layer likes to stick to the plastic, tearing small pieces away. And guess where the data is really written? The TDK's on the other hand work fine in plastic sleeves. Go for the cheaper memorex if you have actual CD cases, but if you put them in a "holder" get TDK's.

BTW, about the coasters, it really depends on the burner you have.
if it is burnproof and fast, and u have a good comp to give memory performance, then you have no problems at all!!

    Good Luck
