    Hey all,

I got two cpu's here, trying to figure out which one to use for better all around performance.

    Both are socket 775 cpu's, one is a Pentium4 3.4 EE, the other is a Core2Duo E7200.

I am leaning towards the P4.

    Your thoughts?

core 2 duo any time :) would leave the p4 in the dust

    Oh Okay,

I was thinking that maybe the outright clockspeed of the 3.4EE would be better than the E7200 2.53Ghz.

architecture changes make the core, core 2 and core i7 chips the fastest on the planet. The p4 is very inefficient.

Ditto - Core2 architecture yields significant speed advantage at similar clock speeds(memory access and cpu) plus you have dual cores for improved multi tasking. The core2 will also run cooler than a P4 EE.

Great, thanks for all the info.

I was told that the Eseries was a celeron replacement, that is why I was questioning this setup.

    Thanks again,
