i'm looking for a small cgi or javascript even that would search a directory for newly posted pictures. ie: naming them 1.jpg,2.jpg,3.jpg and so on, so the newest would be the highest numbers. then having it display the newest ones on a website and having the 'more new' pics on the side to click on.
something like this

OOO__1
where the O's represent 1 big picture (#4, the newest) and the other numbers are stacked images of older pictures.
