I am planning on putting my router into place this weekend and I was wondering if any of you know of any gotchas or things to be careful of. The router is a D-Link 614+ and the cable modem I have is a Motorola Surf Board 5100. Any input would be appreciated.

I checked in with the D-Link forum at BBR and they pretty much confirmed the addition of the router should be a painless process....gonna try it to tonight after work

wow...that was super easy to do...now i got my desktop and 2 wireless notebooks on da net...sweet...but I just thought of something...the IP address of my SB5100 was and I guess still is 192.168.100.1 and the addresses handed out by the D-Link router are in the 192.168.0.x range...how do I check my modem diags now if i need to?

Same way you used to. the router should be invisible between the modem and the network.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
