i just got a made by ATI 8500 LE with 128 megs of ram.
i went to install it yesterday and for some reason there wouldnt be any video sent out to the monitor.
i checked in the BIOS settings and i have AGP chosen in the video config settings (its a D865GBFL mobo w/celeron 2.8 ghz). its still wont send a video signal to the monitor. i ran the pc with the case open, and the fan in the card works, so im supposing the card works.
the weird thing is that even when the AGP option is chosen in the BIOS, the video is still being sent to the integrated video on the motherboard. when PCI is chosen in the BIOS, the AGP aperture option and the option to choose how much ram to give to the gfx controller shows. when the AGP option is chosen, those 2 options still appear (with the previous video card, an mx420, the ram allocation option did not appear if agp was chosen).
any suggestions on what i should to before calling in the warranty exchange?
thanks,
Apu
