Hey guys, I'm hoping that someone can help me out with a problem we are having at work. We just installed Exchange 03 (upgraded form an old generic POP3 server) and everything, so far, is running very smoothly. We are, though, having problems with contacts in Outlook. We have 'internal'...

First, check and make sure that something hasn't changed your proxy settings in FF and IE. Some crap program did that to one of my machines last year...

FWIW, I've seen this issue several times with WPA and WPA2. More often than not, a driver update fixed the problem. For some reason it's happening quite a bit on new equipment. At work, we just purchased 2 new laptops that had the same problem...so who knows. Anywho...check the driver. One...

Ah...too much coffee today I guess. Anyways, yeah you have to have an antenna (internal or otherwise). Know too that radios CAN become damaged over time if powered on without an antenna (but such is not always the case). Anyways...glad you got it to work!

Okay, make sure that the card is activated...on a LOT of laptops, you can do this by Fn+F2.

First, make sure that MAC filtering is OFF and security/encryption is OFF (we'll deal with that later) on the router. Next, make sure that (if your laptop has one) the wireless card hardware switch is set to "on" or "enabled." Also, did you get the latest driver for your wireless card?

I have to vote against Linksys. For three years, I worked for a consultant firm that installed wireless (all sizes, enterprise and private) and can say that we had more problems and complaints with Linksys overall than any others (then again, some worked fine...). For a private wireless...

FWIW, I've seen that very thing with a few Toshiba laptops...a touchpad driver update fixed it in each case (nothing to do with brushing the surface).

Agree...there is no replacement for experience. I have found that in my immediate arze, however, that one must have experience, college AND certs...as the marketplace here is very competitive. I often wonder why anyone has anything bad to say about certs...is there any harm in getting them...
