New products going to debut very soon. A number are already spoken for so there may be a delay (at least for the 620) when it debuts.
Also, new precision product will debut soon. The main difference between these items and previous latitude products is the chasis. Instead of a tri-metal chasis, it is a metal composite which is ridiculously strong. How strong you ask? I watched a LIVE demo of a functioning notebook which had a spreadsheet open, it was placed on the ground vertically in a V formation (much like a book) and a 185lb man STOOD on it. I know he was 185lb coz I work with him ![]() The notebook didn't even creak (was an 820). All have biometric/tpm and other features standard and they are pretty damn reliable in drop-tests. More so than the competitors based on the test results published (gotta love new materials and drop-zones). d-420 == 12" wide-screen with dual-core on the horizon. D-620 will be a 14" wide-aspect notebook with a discrete solution option and the d820 will be the 15.4" version, again with core-duo procs and other benefits (i.e. media direct and stuff). The m-90 will have a 512mb quadro top of the line professional graphics solution while still maintaining an approx 8lb weight for a 17" screen and decent battery life.Absolutely kick ass products ![]() I want the 420. |

The D420 sounds very cool. Not in the market for a new laptop at the moment, but I'm curious to see the full specs and designs of these things.

Not sure if they will all be core-duo. I would personally doubt it. Price-points for customers will probably make it unlikely. |

The idea of a well-reinforced notebook appeals to me. I've used a Toshiba Toughbook on several occasions, but they're so bulkly.
