Anyone knows why Zone Alarm makes it longer for windows to shutdown or restart? any workaround?

im having the same problem ..i use version 3.1.395..hope somebody has a sollution

Use the same version as Dayle and tried as what Hipster suggested . . no luck

If you turned zone alarm off before shutting down then that is not your problem. What I do is use a program called enditall then shut down. Be careful it is very powerful....but simple to figure out.

then there is something else thats making the shutdown slow..i just realised my problem was not on account of zone alarmbut the divx codec that had a gain_trikler service running.i thought it was zone alarm because that was the last thing i installed bfore the slowdown

check your taskmanager for weird services running

I had the same problem and I changed to Sygate Personal Firewall and problem was gone. I wasn't running Divx on that machine either, so I know it couldn't have been that.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
