I got a question here....I have a Compaq 720CA laptop, and am wondering what kind of RAM I am able to put in it for upgrade. Do I need a certain kind? Thanks for the help.

Did you ask me?? Don't know. Compaq says:"256 MB 133 MHz SyncDRAM upgradeable to 384 MB "

no, that was just my subject...anyone could have answered.

see your mother board's specs dude.
some mother boards won't allow you to add more than 512.( that's for desktops donnu about laptops, but I think it's the same.

lol and the answer to your question is you need PC133 144-Pin SDRAM

Oh yea as yoyo said you can have a maximum of only 384MB

don't laptop's require a certain type of sdram? shorter dimms?

no, a paper I got with my laptop said I could upgrade up to 1 GB or whatever it is...but can I just go to the store, and say, I want 128 MB ram, or what? do I need certain kind of ram?

yes taurus they do, 144pin SODIMM's.

bmorrissey51 just go into the store or order off the net but make sure you get PC133 144 pin SODIMM's

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
