Go to Gibson Research to read the story.

It turns out that for the past 11 weeks no one has said a word until Microsoft fixed this problem.

What's the problem:
A hacker could have you click on a link on a web page that could wipe out your hard drive. A help window would pop-up and once you closed the window your data would be gone. Windows XP SP1 fixes this problem.

Here is a tip I saw on the ScreenSaver show on TV today.
If you have a slow connection you can do this quick fix until you download and install SP1.

Do a search for "uplddrvinfo.htm" and rename or remove it. I would just rename it to "uplddrvinfo.htm.old". This will prevent this Vulnerability.

ouch, but having installed SP1 I won't need to remove this file... right ?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
