XP shutdown

Hi there,

when I want to shutdown windows xp is takes a very long time....

How can I solve this???

try this

open regedit

Hkey_Local_Machine/system/controlset001/control

then change waittokillservicetimeout to a lower number like 3000 or 4000...that way xp will wait less time before killing services as it shuts down

trydissabling your pagefile from clearing on every shutdown.

3000 4000 wow mines set at 200

its best not to have it too low, cause then services have at least a chance to shutdown normaly.
probably doesn't matte though

I am going to post a new thread in the tweaks forum....In is there is going to be every tweak that I use to get my system to run like beotch.....

If u r using a NIVIA-base video card, go to administrative tools. Click Services and select NVIDIA Driver Helper Service.
Press stop button and change startup type to Manual.
That should speed up the shutdown process.

Are you on a network? If so, the system is unloading the protocols required for you to connect to the network and there isn't much you can do to speed up that process.
