XP registration...again???

A question for you guys n gals...

If I make changes to my system hardware, then do a fresh install, will i need to call Micro-twits to try to explain why I need another registration key. As I understand it, the s/ware takes a 'snapshot' of your setup, the uses the data from that to create your key, meaning that once it is registered, you can't install on another machine (or a changed one).

Is this correct, or am I missing something?

Any hints/answers ppl?

the DVD failed, and the notebook went back to the makers to be repaired. they replaced it.

i was just wondering on a general level too, whether you can make changes to hardware without re-registering.

Thx ppl, I thought as much. Guess Microsoft are gonna have to listen to a lot of reasons why ppl want a new key. i know a lot of us regularly clean install/change hardware.

Hmmmmmm.....wonder if i can find a fix for that particular problem???????!!!!.........;)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
