I have just bought a 2.6 xp processor in a msi kt4v motherboard and i have set the cpu fsb to 133 is this correct as it is only showing the cpu in the start up screen as a 2.0 .sorry only a beginner

If it is an amd xp2600 that you got then that's about right.......I think. 2.0 ghz.

if it is the amd xp 2600 with a barton core then it is 333 fsb but amd work in the way that there name is a rating of come kind not the GHZ rating

Goodie. I just assumed the CPU-speed increased by 66 MHz / 100+ increment. ;>

As far as I know, the 2500xp is the last to use a 266 fsb, therefore the 2600xp would have to be set at 166mhz to be a 333 fsb. That will most likely have it running at its proper speed.

thanks thats it 266 now reading as a 2.6

thanks for the help

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
