XP problems galore

I have re-installed XP and I am having major problems. I was getting ASPI problems and finally found a fix for that. Now I am having major conflicts with my DVD player. Does anyone have a good XP DVD player suggestion. I have ASUS DVD 2000 and Windvd. They lock up and that is on their best behavior. What are my options?

I use Power Dvd and GDIVX player and they both work great for me.
