XP Pro Shared Drives

hey all.. I have this problem... I have disabled simple file sharing in winxp pro however everytime i right click on a drive and try to adjust its sharing priveleges it gives me a message saying "This drive has been shared for administrative purposes. The permissions cannot be set"..... does anyone know how to fix this???

Down in the bottom right corner click the "New Share" button. Then enter the name/comment and set permissions.

yeah I am aware I can just create a new share.. however what are these default shares for?? when I go into computer management and look at shared folders it has $C $D etc fro all my drives shared... and I cannot edit these... what are they shared for??

What the message says, "administrative purposes". Don't mind them, just create a new "C" share and continue from there. I don't think the C$ will show up in NN.

They are hidden shares and they ARE accessible over the network. Catch 22 is that you must know the share exists and what the admin password is for the system. You can disable the shares but they will reappear next time you reboot, there is a registry key to stop that from happening, but I do not have that info on me right now.
