I changes my Motherboard this week to Gigabyte 7VAXP Ultra.
Having previously loaded XP Pro corporate version ,with no problem and no password request on installation.
This time however I was locked out, with an administrator password request after reinstallation.
As this prevented me accessing the desktop, I had to substitute another hard drive to load the system with XP Home, and then format the other h/d to gain access to reuse it.
Theres no way to boot to the repair function it seems, when the system password override prevents any forward access!
What stage did I miss on installation, that would have prevented the password activation, which I had never used before?
XP Home in contrast, requests user name(s) but no generalsystem password towards the end of the installation.
