the main differences are in networking, as XP-Pro has all the business kind of network options and security, while the Home version, just has few networking options.

Dont waste your money on Pro, if your a home user, but if your a business then xp-pro is better.

I agree!

I only bought the pro because i work at home and i need IIS (webserver) for that.
Otherwise i would have spent my money on something else.

XP Pro, without a doubt. XP home isn't that good from what i've tinkered with it in the shops

check microsofts website for official differences of course, without bias of.."oh my XP is better than yours" lol

Essentially they are the same, its just networking and security thats different.

By the way, you don't have to buy retail. I bought a copy of WinXP Pro OEM for $120 on eBay. It just comes with the disc and a quickstart manual, which is all you really need.

Ep, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS

Been running around Quora lately, luv it there https://tinyurl.com/ycpxl
