XP pro Error Signature...Pleas help..

Hi,sorry if this appears a stupid question,but it`s cracking me up..?? I have just upgraded to XP from windows Me,But I have a problem with a program I`m trying to patch..?? The program when installed works fine,but when I apply a patch to it I get a message saying:- Error Signature...then I get an option to send report to microsoft...?? I have tried and tried to find a setting or option to disable the signature security but unable to sort it out I never had any problems like this when running on win Me...Any infomation would be appreciated,

I'd like to tell you I can answer your question, but I can't. But I can tell you something you really don't want to hear

Upgrading from a DOS based OS (like ME) to an NT based OS (XP) is never a good idea. In the long run you will run into all sorts of trouble. If it's not too much of a hardship I'd strongly recommend reformatting and doing a clean install.

See - I told you you didn't want to hear it.
