Am I able to upgrade both PCs in my home with the one copy of XP Home upgrade?

No ....... thats why they brought activation in as they say when we buy their stuff we are only paying for one license 
The honest people are the only ones which suffer from product activation as all the warez guys have patches etc ....

hmmm.. thats kinda shotty. you should be able to upgrade atleast 1 more within your home. Most homes have atleast 2 if not only one pc.
