I know this might sound a simple question (daft even) but does xp home support networking like pro?

Yes, the only restriciton is that you can't log onto a 2000/.NET Domain

Just an addition:

XP Home is limited to a 5 workgroup setup. This means that only 5 computers can be networked together.

I think you mean that only 5 concurrent connections can be made to a Home machine. You can have a workgroup larger than 5 computers. Just not have an open share to more than 5 at one time.

That's correct. You can put as many machines on a workgroup as you want, but it can only have 5 concurrent connections. With XP Pro/2000, the number is 10 on a workgroup.

The limit of connections has nothing to do with a workgroup.
