XP Home Edition Address Bar

Hi all
I am installing WinXP Home Edition on a new computer for a friend and i have noticed that the Address Bar is missing, i understand it is off by default, i have tried to get it back by going to View\Toolbars and tick Address Bar but it won't appear.

How can i get it to stay on/appear all the time

I have just noticed that it has appeared, it was stuck to the right hand side of the Standard Toolbar.
Undid Lock Toolbar and draged to the proper position.

i did feel a bit of a dope. but i do suffer from panic attacks and it's not very nice.
