XP CD Boot Problem - Please hel

hey guys hows it going... im sick of win98 so i decided to switch to Windows XP. I wanna do a clean fresh install, i hate upgrades.. So anyways i reboot with the CD in the correct main CD-rom drive and it won't boot up. I know this is my fault cuz i messed with my bios a while back but anyways... I went to my bios and made my first boot device my cd-rom drive and discovered it still wont boot up. I also tried it it in my cd-writer drive but still same thing.. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be or if there is another bios option i might've screwed up on.. This will be greatly appreciated....... PEACE!~

If u got 98 still installed on that, just boot up in 98, and then put the cd in and choose new install. Same deal really

did it give u the option to format? cause if it didn't you hit the upgrade button by mistake.
