I want to format my computer which has XP on and start a fresh, I dont have any bootdisk etc, and cannot run Command or DOS.

Could someone please link me some stuff to put on a Floppy?
Or any adivce

Problem:
I have HD space missing from when I last formatted.

winME on C:
winXP on D: partition of C:

I removed d: partition when I installed XP on my C: Drive, but the drive space that was allocated to D: was never recovered.

Why?

Any help here would also be great

Thanks

Not sure why your disk space wasn't recovered. Did you use Partition magic to merge your partitions?

I believe all the format options are available right off the XP CD. If you have a 98 bootdisk you can use it to fdisk your drive. The best formatting utilities are usually put out by the drive(s) manufacture(s) though, go to their website and get there setup utilities disk(s). If you need a bootable floppy to put them on, XP will do that for you.

You can also change your boot sequence in the BIOS to boot off the CD and then just format the drive before installing XP.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
