How can i get WinXP to set up a DHCP server here on my laptop? Im trying to get on the LAN at my college and i cant figure out their settings and stuff. I heard if you set up a DHCP server on this laptop, you can get on any network. Im not to experienced with networking, but i know a little bit. Any help would be great.
thanks,

jesse

If your college uses DHCP, you just have to choose to get config information from DHCP in your TCP/IP settings. Your best bet is to check your college's config webpages to see how you should have your networking set up. Some colleges also require laptop users to register the MAC address of their NIC before they can get an IP via DHCP. There will be information on those same pages if that is the case.

And per request, just so you understand this, you are not setting up a DHCP server. You are configuring your laptop as a DHCP client.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
