XP and modem

Hi !

If I forget to put on my external com-port modem before starting XP, XP doesn't recognize the modem if I put it on afterwards and try using it. Is this a normal behavior in XP? Before, when I ran Windows 95 it recognized the modem if it was put on after startup.

yes it is normal behaviuor for XP 🙁

You can always go to Control panel/phones 7 Modem....
click mount and it will them see it. Saves a re-boot!!

Alright. Then I have to accept the fact that the modem has to be turned on before startup to be recognized by XP. 🙁
