XP activation

hi,
i recieved this popup on my XP home edition startup.
It says :
" This copy of windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on.
Do you want to activate Windows now?"
i tried clicking "yes" and "No" it does not allow me to logon.
the PC is a standalone.
any help?

Logon to your ISP first then click yes.

Just re read your post. What I do when this happens is click out of that area then I logon again into XP & it let's me in.

did you activate within the 30 days ? or for some reason did you want lockin out your comp ? :huh:

I accidentally ended some Process on my Win XP one day and got that message. It won't let you login to activate XP over the internet, so you'll have to activate it by calling Microsoft.

It shouldn't take but about 10 minutes.

Hit yes to activate now and click the activate over the phone button.

Follow the instructions from there.
