I bought the game today, installed it and when i double click the icon to play my screen goes black and that's it, i have to restart the computer after that! I downloaded the latest official patch but that didn't work. What's happening?

Have you tried running it with Windows 98 or 2000 compatability?

If not, give that a go and see if it helps.

Ok, you need to find the EXE file that runs worms world party. I'll let you know when I get home! I'm sat in front of my work PC, and I don't have the plugin that XP has installed by default!

it didn't work! had to reset twice, tried both 2000 and 98, any other ideas?

hmm... i think i got it on my computer and it works. not sure. in school right now so can't check. when i get home i'll check if it works, then find out what i did if it does work

could it be anything to do with the graphics card?

hmm... works on mine, and i didn't adjust anything for compatibility. try searching the internet or Kazaa. they may have had a patch for it for windows XP that the developer didn't release. ya never know.

well i think it might be the game coz my friend tried it on her computer and she gets a black screen and then it goes back to the desktop, so i'm gonna take it back and swap it and see if that works. I've tried everything with this one.

its not the video card. worms is a very non-graphics intensive game

actually i've had trouble with simpler games before, there's a game called elastomania (bike game, very simple!) and when i tried to load that up it did exactly the same thing, but i can run quake 3 @ 1024 x 768 x 32 with no problems!
