What the hell is a w32/pinom.worm?
I found it like 3 months after I downloaded an app from one of the links that was posted on NTFS. Not sure what app it was, but I'm pretty sure it was something I downloaded from one of those links that are posted often on NTFS.

Thanks for the link.
Followed their instructions, but wasn't very useful because everything they mentioned didn't exist in my files. :p

lol i seem to remember your post last week praising Norton...........

Say no more, u get what u deserved for using that crap :D

I find that Norton picks up more things than most other AVs.

Yes, I've got it cleaned with the AV software. Thanx.
Not sure about what it's left behind though. I've followed the instructions of the Sophos website, but couldn't find any of the strings that it mentions.

He would recommend AVG, since he believes it's better than the rest. Each are entitled to their own opinion.

Just ignore kC anyway, he was just trolling his view to get a response.

i reccomend
AVG www.grisoft.com
Fprot www.f-prot.com

or best of all Esset Nod32 www.nod32.com by far the heuristic capabilties of any virus scanner, also the fastest Scanning engine :p.. also the best thing is a VERY VERY low system footprint...
this is the ONLY av that detected and removed the latest worms (inc msblast) without definition updates...

i know u wont listen, and i really dont care, stick too your consumer/marketing driven crap apps, see if i care..

i work as a callout pctech for a small local firm, a lot of my work involves fixing peoples pcs becuase norton/mcafee cannot do its job.
against new/unheard of virus's its laughable.. and its ability too make a 2ghz sys run like a 1ghz sys.... a joke

Suckers

;)

FYI
After reading this thread I downloaded avg 30 day demo installed it ran a scan, it found five trojans that Panda missed. Canned panda and plan on purchasing AVG. Thanks KC.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
