For some reason Windows Media Player 9 has stopped recognising my

Lite-On Combo LTC 48161H as a recordable device, thus I can no longer backup my CDs etc...

Help!!!

I don't know exactly what the answer is, but I can provide some suggestions:

1) try (a) uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware, (b) updating the drivers, or (c) reinstalling the existing drivers.

2) try uninstalling and reinstalling WMP9... however, doing this means you'll probably have to redo your library (if you have one)

3) visit the windowsmedia website or support.microsoft.com and look for answers there

4) visit the manufacturer's website and see if there is any support regarding the issue

Good luck!

Is it just WMP 9 that can't recognize? Have you manually disabled any services? You could always revert back to WMP 8.

No it's worse than all the above. The drive is simply not recognised by XP as being recordable.

Arrggggghhhhh

Anyone any ideas?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
