im running SuSE 9.0 on a dell inspiron 600m, which has an internal Intel® Pro Wireless 2100 (802.11b) miniPCI card. intel doesnt give any linux drivers for this, but i found a program Linuxant DriverLoader that can use the windows driver to make it work in linux. i got this all set up and linux now recognizes the device, but i cant get it to connect. the ip is correctly assigned to it, and the router even shows that its connected, but i cant ping anything else on the network, or do anything else. in the bootup this is what it shows under the network section:

"Setting up network interfaces:
lo done
eth0 (DHCP)...no IP address yet...backgrounding done
wlan0 warning:using NO encryption
ERROR: command 'iwconfig wlan0 mode Automatic' returned
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06):
SET failed on device wlan0 ; invalid argument.
(DHCP) IP/Netmask: 192.168.0.5 / 255.255.255.0 done"

heres ifconfig wlan0:
"wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:04:23:A1:2A:9E
inet addr:192.168.0.5 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

and heres iwconfig wlan0:
"wlan0 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"Bryan" Nickname:"linux"

does anyone know of what i could try here? thanks in advance

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
